Mental Health and Wellbeing in PR - Senior Practitioners' Forum

CIPR Cymru invites senior PR practitioners to the first forum of 2018.

At times, the nature of PR as a profession can be demanding, especially when juggling work responsibility with the daily stresses of modern life. And this can have a negative impact on practitioners wellbeing.

Open to CIPR members and non-members with departmental head, board-level or account director experience, practitioners will come together to share learnings and discuss the key issues relating to the mental health and wellbeing of the modern PR professional.

Following feedback from the first Senior Practitioners' Forum, the event will take place over lunch and will include:

• A talk from Paul Sutton, Digital Marketing Consultant, who has worked in the PR industry for two decades. He has personal experience of depression and is passionate about addressing the mental well-being of the communications industry.

• A panel-led discussion featuring representatives from CIPD Wales, Mind Cymru and Time for Change Wales - TBC

• Breakout discussion and Q&A

• Buffet lunch

The day will conclude at around 3pm.

The event is £20 + VAT to CIPR members and £35+VAT for non-CIPR members. Tickets will be allocated on a first-come, first-serve basis. Those interested in attending the event after final tickets are sold can register their interest and will be placed on a reserve list in the event of cancellations.

CIPR Cymru Wales

The CIPR (Chartered Institute of Public Relations) Cymru Wales is for professional communicators. Our members work across business, industry, PR consultancies and in government, education, health and other public bodies.

The CIPR is UK-wide and offers training and development leading to professional qualifications that are increasingly demanded by employers. We also strive to ensure high standards of professionalism and conduct among our members.
We have recently celebrated not only our 40th anniversary in Wales, but also the granting of chartered status to our organisation - confirming our position as a leading professional body.

A committee of Welsh PR professionals looks after the interests of CIPR members in Wales - organising annual and monthly events; arranging and communicating training and career development opportunities in Wales; providing a voice for the profession in Wales; communicating national CIPR information to the Welsh membership; and working in partnership with Welsh universities on a number of fronts.
