RIBA Gloucestershire is pleased to announce our first ever workshop on Mental Health and Wellbeing.

Mental health includes our emotional, psychological and social wellbeing. It affects how we think, feel and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others and make choices.

Our panel of prolific experts will educate us on the tools and intervention practices which can be used to promote wellbeing, support staff and colleagues, and access appropriate external support if needed.

Our experts include:

Emmanuel Owusu : Emmanuel works with the NHS design board where he advises on the construction of
mental health and dementia care units for Mersey care NHS trust in Liverpool. He has published four books in relation to mental health. 'My Psychosis story' ' Let's talk mental health’ ‘The Arts and Mental health’and 'Mentalk Health'. He is an ambassador for the Architects Benevolent Society, and his simple goal is to raise awareness in the hope that it helps reduce the stigma that surrounds mental health in our society.

Nicola Rich : Nicola Rich is a Social + Emotional Intelligence Coach through the Institute for Social + Emotional Intelligence® and a Mental Health First Aid instructor. She is also a qualified Psychotherapist, and the founder of Nine to Thrive, a company for social good helping businesses implement a culture of wellbeing through education, learning and training initiatives.

Mats Kolbjornsen : Mats Kolbjornsen is a Clinical Hypnotherapist specialising in helping people increase their confidence and alleviate their anxiety. Mats is an Anxiety UK Associate Trainer and Assessor, providing partner client assessments for new referrals, and delivering workshops to raise awareness and to explore tools to manage mental health, anxiety and the development of resilience. Mats is passionate about getting people with mental health struggles the right support in order to help them on their path to recovery.

We will also be joined by Anne Cosentino, RIBA Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Manager.

This workshop is in collaboration with AnxietyUK, The Architects Benevolence Society and the RIBA.
