About this event
Mental Health – are we doing enough?
12.30-13.45 Wednesday 9 February 2022
Connect Health “Change” has developed a series of webinars to make and embed transformation in healthcare. Aimed at system leaders and clinicians across the NHS, the webinars provide practical solutions to the challenging issues we are all grappling with.
View our past webinars, agendas, speakers and recordings here.
This webinar will bring together those on the frontline delivery of services and patient perspectives, together with expert opinion and emerging evidence.
Covid-19 and the nation’s mental health (source Centre for Mental Health) confirms that 10 million people in England will need support for their mental health as a direct result of the pandemic over the next three to five years.
It is concerning that the predicted levels of demand are two to three times higher than current NHS mental health capacity, despite additional investment. Specialist bereavement support, people economically impacted by the pandemic, survivors of severe Covid and health and care workers are being adversely affected and need specific services. Mental and physical health are treated separately, causing higher costs and poorer health.
This webinar will consider where we are now, what needs to happen and where is the sector going. It will unearth issues around workforce, physical and mental health integration and will debate what digital/virtual services offer.
This webinar will ask
- How big is the current / expected problem – what are the latest insights?
- Where should investment be targeted?
- What is the latest learning and data and how is it being applied?
- What more can be done to improve outcomes?
