Event description
Find out what you can do when your job affects your mental health and how self-care can help you to prevent it.

About this Event

A recent Gallup study of nearly 7,500 full-time employees found that 23 percent reported feeling burned out at work very often or always, while an additional 44 percent reported feeling burned out sometimes.

Entrepreneurs are particularly susceptible to burnout because many of us work alone or on small teams. As a group, startup founders tend to value personal freedom and control so much that they are vulnerable to deep discouragement and frustration when confronting problems that are beyond our control and this can easily lead to burnout.

Job burnout is a special type of work-related stress — a state of physical or emotional exhaustion that also involves a sense of reduced accomplishment and loss of personal identity. Burnout is no longer caring, no longer having energy, and no longer feeling like our effort matters.

Join Hope Tribe at Google Campus where industry experts suggests practical ways to practice self-care, avoid professional burnout and stay happy, healthy and and reignite your passion and motivation for the work you do.

Hope Tribe’s main mission is to start a society-wide dialogue about mental health issues and stop the stigma that surrounds it.

There's a huge stigma associated with mental health issues and the overwhelming majority of people report being misunderstood by family members, shunned, ignored or called names and labelled by friends, work colleagues and health professionals. Stigma and discrimination prevent people from seeking help: this can delay treatment and impair recovery. Our mission is to change the outlook on mental health issues, to stop the stigma around it and get those who suffer the help and support they need and deserve.

Soft drinks at the event will be kindly provided by Karma Kola.
