This Adult MHFA Half Day course qualifies you as Mental Health Aware.

About this Event

This online course is the same training you would receive in the training room, Mental Health First Aid England have adapted it to online to make it accessible during the lock down.

What will you learn?

It is designed to give you:

• An understanding of what mental health is and how to challenge stigma

• A basic knowledge of some common mental health issues

• An introduction to looking after your own mental health and maintaining wellbeing

• Confidence to support someone in distress or who may be experiencing a mental health issue

Format

Learning takes place through a mix of presentations, group discussions and workshop activities. The course is delivered LIVE online, via the Zoom.

You will need internet access, and PC/laptop with video & audio connection. We will contact you before the event to give you one-on-one support with technical aspect of joining the virtual classroom.

Safe Learning

We limit numbers to a maximum of 12 people per course so that the instructor can keep people safe, supported and fully engaged in the virtual environment while they learn.

Mental health training can be an emotive subject, therefore along side the MHFA Instructor there will be a qualified MHFAider to give assistance to anyone if they wish to 'step out' of the class for a while to talk and get support.

Takeaways

Before the course you will be sent:

• MHFA manual to refer to whenever you need it

• A workbook including a helpful toolkit to support your own mental health

Once you have completed the course and feedback you will receive:

• A certificate of attendance to say you are Mental Health Aware

Cost

MHFA England values this course at £125 per person. As independent instructors we charge just £70 pp.

About Your MHFA Instructor

Dawn is passionate about raising awareness about mental health and to help reduce the stigma and discrimination around it in the workplace and in our society. Dawn has been a trainer in the mental health and health and social care sector for many years, specialising in MHFA training for the past three years. Last year Dawn trained over 400 people on a MHFA course.
