Event description

Description

We know that many people feel stuck for what to say or what to do when it comes to mental health. Mental Health Awareness training helps to change people’s perspectives of what it means to have a mental health condition, so they can draw upon that knowledge at work to foster supportive relationships with others. When we don’t understand what is happening to others (or ourselves), we can feel ill-equipped to help.

Our half day course is an introductory four-hour session to raise awareness of mental health. It is designed to give you:

  • An understanding of what mental health is and how to challenge stigma

  • A basic knowledge of some common mental health issues

  • An introduction to looking after your own mental health and maintaining wellbeing

  • Confidence to support someone in distress or who may be experiencing a mental health issue

Who is this course for?

Anyone with an interest in learning more about mental health, their own and others.

Format

The delivery style is a mix of group activities, presentations and discussions.

Materials and certification:

Everyone who completes the course will receive our MHFA manual and workbook to keep for reference whenever they need it, and also a certificate confirming that they are a Mental Health Aware.
