We are all on the mental health spectrum one way or another. This course is a one day event looking at all aspects of mental health and wellbeing. The stigma surrounding mental health still has an effect on how we approach mental health and wellbeing. By become more aware of what mental health is, as well as some practical tips and helpful information in how to develop resilience we find that participants on this course are better positioned to both look after themselves and help others.
Our Mental Health Awareness course is informed by our organisations experience of providing services that support and enable mental health and wellbeing across Lothian. For this course we will have two trainers, one of whom has direct lived experience of mental health issues.
This course works well with all types of staff and volunteers. The training is interactive with a full range of approaches including quizzes, poetry, case studies, presentations, lots of discussion, narratives of recovery and skills' practice.
