OBJECTIVES
This interactive, online course is divided in to 2 x 1.5 hour sessions. Giving flexibility for attendance. The course provides you with awareness in Mental Health and prepares you for managing complex and difficult situations in the workplace as well as providing you with knowledge and understanding of how underlying complex health issues frame your working practices.
Delegates will receive a workbook, certificate and a supporting pre recorded course with strategies, activities and exercises on how to keep mentally safe.

What are the outcomes?
Delegates will receive:
- A clear understanding of mental health issues and learning how to build resilience.
- Learn how to spot early warning signs of someone struggling to cope.
- Knowledge on how to develop better listening skills.
- Direct learning on how to have a difficult conversation.
- Knowledge to recognise verbal and non verbal cues.
- Knowledge to support employees with strategies to overcome stress.
- Confidence to know what appropriate action to take.
- A ‘supporting employees mental health’ video for delegates to reflect post the event and share with colleagues, a Workbook and certificate of attendance.

This course is suitable for anyone from staff through to senior management and beyond.
SPEAKER
The sessions will be led by Gwen Robertson, Scottish Mental Health Trainer.
Gwen is an accredited Mental Health First Aid trainer for Adult and Young Persons. She also has extensive experience delivering bespoke training across Scotland in mental health, NHS/Public Health Scotland - Healthy Working Lives, SCQF Mental Health First Aid Level 4, 5 & 6 and challenging behavioural courses that support people working with children and young adults who have Additional Support Needs. Gwen is passionate about being pro-active and making change for the better and recently qualified as a Scottish Government Quality Improvement leader. When she is not delivering Mental Health training, Gwen volunteers her time as a Learning & Development Co-ordinator for the Children's Hearing Panel and other third sector organisations.
