About this event
Mental Health Awareness Training.
The training helps people to understand more about the most common mental health issues and conditions, how to spot the signs, support effectively and appropriately with someone who may have a mental health condition, and enables people to know what other help is available. It is an interactive course delivered through zoom and is delivered over one day.
Morning Session
• What is mental health
• What is stigma and how can we encourage help seeking
• How to provide support - empathy, compassion, listening skills
• The role of stress
• Depression - signs/symptoms/support
• Anxiety (including PTSD) - signs/symptoms/support
Afternoon Session
• Bipolar disorder - signs/symptoms/support
• Schizophrenia - signs/symptoms/support
• Psychosis - signs/symptoms/support
• Dual Diagnosis - signs/symptoms/support
• Brief overview of Personality Disorder
• Signposting for further support
