About this event

How are you? Fine.

How often do we answer this simple question without considering how we really do feel? In today's fast-moving, ever-changing climate it is vital that we are aware of our own feelings and the feelings of those around us, talk freely about the things that worry us or make us feel low, and prioritise our mental health, the way we do our physical health. Breaking down the stigma that still sadly exists around mental health starts with educating ourselves about the conditions that can affect any one of us and gaining insight into how we support ourselves and others.

This one-and-a-half hour workshop is particularly useful to those key workers, employees and volunteers of charities and small businesses working or living in the London Borough of Richmond Upon Thames, who would like to learn more about mental health, with the objective of:

  • Encouraging more confidence to talk about mental health
  • Improving understanding of mental health stigma and its impacts
  • Improving awareness of different types of mental health conditions
  • Providing self help tools for managing mental health
  • Providing information about where to find support

The workshop is run by Richmond Borough Mind, a charity rooted in the local community which exists to meet local mental health needs. Through our various projects, staff and volunteers, we provide high quality, individually tailored services so people can live full lives and be connected to other people in their communities.
