The Equality and Diversity Group and Voluntary and Community Archaeology group are holding their annual general meetings on the 7th of March at the Hive Worcester. Following these we are jointly offering a Mental Health Aid CPD workshop. The training providers are approved by Mental First Aid England. A manual for future reference is included in the fee and CPD certificates will be provided. Places are limited and must be booked through Eventbrite. The workshop will broadly cover the following:
One in four people will experience a mental health problem in a year. There is a general lack of understanding of the issues surrounding mental health and we need to raise awareness.
Aim: raise awareness of mental health and begin to work effectively with people experiencing problems.
• Identify the discrimination surrounding mental health problems
• Define mental health and some mental health problems
• Relate to people’s experiences
• Help support people with mental health problems
• Begin developing a business case for promoting positive mental health in the workplace
• Look after your own mental health
With additional financial support from CIfA places for the CPD workshop (including lunch) cost just £25 for CIfA members and paid-up non-CIfA members of either the EDG or VCA groups. For non-CIfA/group members the fee is £35 (this includes a special offer of a year's membership of both EDG and VCA - usually £10 each).
Please give details of any specific dietary requirements and e-mail Anna at email@example.com if you have any queries or need further information about the day.
Please note that the workshop itself will start at 13.30 with lunch beforehand at 13.00. Workshop attendees who are not group members are very welcome to attend the morning AGMs/ museum visit.
For further information on the group AGMs and more detailed directions to the Hive please visit the group pages on the CIfA website http://www.archaeologists.net/equality-diversity-group or http://www.archaeologists.net/groups/voluntary

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
The Hive is a 5 minute walk from Foregate Street Train Station (note that Worcester has two stations, and Shrub Hill is much further away (about 30 minutes walk), so do go for Foregate Street if coming by train. As you leave the station, turn left. Take the 1st right (by the estate agents on the corner), and head down the Hill. Straight on past the Paul Pry pub, and you'll see a large Gold building in front of you. The main entrance is up the steps on the right hand side.
If coming by car, there are several Pay and Display car parks in front of the building: Croft Road, at the bottom end of the racecourse, is the cheaper. There are maps and directions available at: http://www.thehiveworcester.org/getting-here.html
How can I contact the organiser with any questions?
Contact Anna at email@example.com
What's the refund policy?
We will offer a full refund up to and including 28 February. After this date any refunds/part refunds will be discretionary.
