This Level 3 Award in Supervising First Aid for Mental Health is an an 𝗢𝗳𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 course, is 𝗖𝗣𝗗 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 and 𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝘂𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗳𝘂𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗮𝘆.

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗢𝗳𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗹𝘆, 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗳𝗳 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝘀.

At the end of this course, the learners will:

🔸 Know what mental health is, why people develop mental health conditions and the role of a First Aider for Mental Health

🔸 Know how to provide advice and practical support for a person presenting a mental health condition

🔸 Know how to recognise and manage stress

🔸 Understand the impact of substance abuse on mental health

🔸 Understand the first aid action plan for mental health and be able to put it in place

🔸 Know how to implement a positive mental health culture in the workplace

🔸 Understand a range of mental health disorders and the support / therapy provided by healthcare professionals

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝘀 run via trainer-led ,virtual classroom.

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝗿𝘂𝗻 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 six 𝟮½ 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗭𝗼𝗼𝗺 𝘀𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻s (usually from 09:30 - 12:30 and 13:00 - 15:30 over 3 days).

We also run these courses in person, in Chesterfield, Derbyshire.
