Event description
A 2 day Mental Health First Aider Certification Training, Including Comprehensive Course Materials For You To Keep After The Event

About this Event

We all have mental health, just as we all have physical health. Mental ill health can strike at any time and can affect people from all walks of life. Statistics reflect that approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year, and, in England, 1 in 6 people report experiencing a common mental health problem (such as anxiety and depression) in any given week.

Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) is a training course which will teach you how to identify, understand and help someone who may be experiencing a mental health issue. It won’t teach you to be a therapist, but it will teach you to listen, reassure and respond, even in a crisis – and even potentially prevent a crisis.

You will learn to recognise the warning signs of mental ill health, and will develop the skills to confidently approach and support someone whilst keeping yourself safe. You will also learn how to empower someone to access the support they might need for recovery or successful management of symptoms. You will also gain an understanding of how to support positive well-being and how to tackle stigma in the world around you.

The two day training is delivered across four manageable sessions. Through a mix of group activities, presentations and discussions, each session is built around a Mental Health First Aid action plan. For a detailed breakdown of the course structure, please visit https://mhfaengland.org/individuals/adult/2-day/

The MHFA Instructor Training Programme is also accredited by the Royal Society for Public Health.

Join Colin Symington-Bailey and Chris Barton for this two-day MHFA training workshop. After completing both days, you will be an MHFA England certified (Adult) Mental Health First Aider.

(Owing to the nature of the training - and to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the delegates - numbers are strictly limited for each course. Please act now to avoid disappointment.)

Allum Hall and Manor - our idyllic setting in Elstree - is less than 25 minutes via Thameslink from St Pancras International, with direct rail links also to Blackfriars, Farringdon, Kentish Town, Luton, St. Albans, Dunstable and Bedford. There is also ample provision for free parking if you would prefer to drive...

(This is a 2 day workshop. To receive your certificate, both days must be completed in full. Please note also that to attend the workshop, you must be 16 years of age - or older. Thank you for your understanding.)

We look forward to meeting you on Wednesday, February the 20th...

Refund Policy

Should the session be cancelled (MHFA England enforce a minimum attendance) you will be offered a place on the course on an alternative date. If an alternative date cannot be arranged, your payment will be refunded in full.

In the event of the participant's non-attendance or a cancellation within 30 working days before the beginning of the the course, the payment is non-refundable subject to our discretion.

You can complete your booking through this page, or if you have any further questions please feel free to contact me directly.
