Event description
Learn how to give First Aid for Mental Health through this online MHFA training, delivered by an approved MHFA England Instructor.

About this event

"...great course ...learnt so much... delivery style was perfect!"

For me, this course opened up my awareness around different mental illnesses and the variety of ways that mental ill health may show up in individuals. It led me to feeling more solid and clear about what I can offer in the way of supporting someone who is not well and what support I can signpost them on to. My experience as an instructor delivering this course is that it increases people's confidence about approaching others and having difficult conversations, plus highlights how important it is to take care of our own mental health.

Through a blend of 4 instructor-led live sessions and self-learning activities, you will:

– Develop practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues

– Gain confidence to reassure and support a person in distress

– Learn how to guide them to further support for recovery

The live session dates and times are:

10th November 9am - 12pm

11th November 9am - 12.30pm

17th November 9am - 12pm

18th November 9am - 12pm

Though much of the content is emotive and challenging, there is space for rich conversation and some fun along the way. You will also learn more about your own self care.
