Join us for this one-day training designed especially for volunteers serving in cafés, Warm Welcome Spaces, community meals, coffee mornings, and other outreach activities across Bournemouth, Poole and Christchurch.
Together, we’ll explore how to better understand mental health, reduce stigma, and offer compassionate, practical support to those we meet day by day.
This training will help you to:
- Understand our emotions and develop a confident, compassionate response to mental health challenges
- Learn about the mental health continuum and how it affects people in times of crisis
- Explore how churches and community projects can create welcoming, stigma-free spaces
- Reflect on a robust theology of mental health and how faith can shape our understanding and our response
- Gain an overview of common mental health conditions and practical ways to respond appropriately
- Be introduced to trauma-informed practice and learn how to support people with care and sensitivity
- Look after your own wellbeing while supporting others
Whether you serve tea, share a meal, offer a listening ear, or simply provide a warm welcome, this training will equip you to be part of a community that helps transform lives with kindness, understanding, and hope.
