The psychological aspects of helping survivors of sexual exploitation.

About this Event

Psychological help is one of the most important steps in the recovery process of survivors of sexual exploitation. During the webinar two psychologists from SafeHouse Foundation based in Russia will talk about the psychological specifics of the trafficking process and its continuum, principles of psychological work and the features of the approach to psychological help in their practice.

The risks and factors of burnout in helping professions will also be covered as well as methods to burnout prevention. Finally, we’ll talk about complications and impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on sexual exploitation and victims.

In addition to sharing the information about psychological help with the audience, our goal is to be able to discuss this difficult topic and share experiences.

Nina Volontey is a psychologist/psychotherapist and trainer at the SafeHouse Foundation. Since 2013, she has held counseling to human trafficking and violence survivors. She has also served as a trainer for programs related to the prevention of human trafficking and trainings for specialists.

Anastasia Grishina is a clinical psychologist, counseling psychologist. She works at the SafeHouse Foundation for over a year, focusing on psychological counseling to human trafficking survivors. She also provides assistance in psychological trainings for vulnerable groups and conducting presentations for different audience and organisations in order to raise awareness about human trafficking and violence as well as to inform about the SafeHouse's activities.
