Description

The Documentary Media Centre is proud to present "Mental Health in the Media: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly". Local mental health campaigner Julian Harrison will be in conversation with journalist John Coster to discuss portrayals of mental health and illness on film and television. Are they helpful, offensive or just damaging? Are mental health depictions accurate? if not, what can be done about it?

This event is part of the 8th Leicester Doc Film Festival (1st - 30th November), brought to you by the Documentary Media Centre and the College of Life Sciences 'Wellbeing Matters' campaign.

This event coincides with Documentary Media Month and falls on World Television Day, which focuses on the importance of television in the freedom of expression and cultural diversity.
