Event Details

Would you like to be a part of an initiative that brings together latest research and evidence-based best practice to make emotionally healthy families in our communities a reality for all?

The conference in Reading "Mental Health Starts in the Womb" will be focusing on:

  • showcasing latest evidence-based practice on prevention

  • mapping what is currently available and pathways

  • identifying how we can work better together in filling gaps in the services

Speakers will include Prof. Vivette Glover, Prof. Jane Barlow, George Hosking OBE and others.

The conference is open everyone interested in parenting, foetal and infant development. We welcome GPs, healthcare professionals, parents and expectant parents, third sector, statutory services and local authority representatives, and everyone working with families and in the field of pregnancy, birth preparation and early parenting.

Bookings are open until 1st of November. Places are limited so we advise booking early. For more information visit our website.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?

By bus
The Pavilion is a short walk from Reading Town Centre, Reading Railway Station and Reading West Railway Station.

All buses stop in Reading Town Centre, with buses No 15, 16 and 17 stopping right outside the venue. The No 33 bus stops outside the Pavilion on its way towards the Town Centre.

By car
The nearest car parks are:
– Q-Park Chatham Place (3 minutes away on foot)
– Broad Street Mall (7 minutes walk away).

There is a limited number of parking spaces available on site, which is exclusively reserved for Blue Badge holders only. Spaces will be allocated on a first come – first served basis and can be applied for upon booking.

What's the refund policy?

Full refunds until 1st of November. 

After 1st of November tickets can be transferred to another name, but cannot be refunded. 

No refunds on the day of the conference, 9th of November.

Linda Davies Dobraszczyk MPH is a former Perinatal Mental Health Project Manager for Reading Borough Council, Trainer in Maternal and Infant Mental Health for MIND Cymru and a Member of Association for Infant Mental Health.

Kamila Kaminska Reg. MBACP ICEEFT is a counsellor, couples and perinatal therapist. She works with individuals and couples in her private practice and as a group therapist for parent & baby PND group with West Berkshire Home-Start UK. She is also a Global Prenatal Initiative Representative.
