1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem in any given year.
As an employer, it is essential that we have a better understanding of mental health which is why the CIPD Mid & North Anglia Branch are working together to organise a Mental Health Awareness Day on 21st November 2016 at The Hallmark Hotel, Bar Hill, Cambridge.
We fully understand the importance of raising the awareness of mental health; we are pleased to have a great day planned to provide an insight into different mental health illnesses, the stigma associated with mental health and how employers can support their employees within the workplace.
We are delighted to have some great speakers at the event. The speakers include:
Jonny Benjamin – Key Note Speaker
Jonny is an award winning mental health campaigner and creator of the Finding Mike campaign which led to the creation of the Stranger on the Bridge documentary (http://www.jonnybenjamin.co.uk). Jonny will be discussing his experience of mental health in the workplace, along with the stigma associated with it.
Mental Health First Aid with Keith Smith of KBS HR Consulting
Mindfulness with David Lynch of Namaste; and
Stress Awareness in the Workplace with Chris Batten of ASL.
In addition we will be supported by local companies and charities who will be exhibiting and on hand to provide further information or support throughout the day.
We will keep updating the CIPD Mid and North Anglia pages with more information on the day.
