About this Event
Mental Rehearsal
Mental Rehearsal is widely used by athletes and musicians to build confidence, enhance performance and speed up recovery from injury. It’s so effective because our brains cannot tell the difference between an actual physical event and a vivid visualisation of the same event because the neurochemistry is the same.
Mental Rehearsal is a fantastic technique to complement and reinforces physical exercise and activities to help improve balance, build confidence and achieve rehabilitation goals. Mental Rehearsal helps clients:
- Feel more confident about moving or carrying out an activity because they have already been ‘successful’
- Experience a boost of Serotonin, dopamine and oxytocin,
- Improve focus
- Practice and fine tune time movements
- Imbed sequences - and develop strategies
- Increase strength - because muscles respond as if they have actually moved
- Improve reaction times
- Re wire their brains - to imagine a new way of being
- Benefit from epigenetic changes in their bodies
During this webinar Christina Bush - one of the founders of Remote Rehab - will be exploring how to support your clients to learn the skills need to be able to use mental rehearsal during their rehabilitation journey.
She will be exploring how you can help your clients utilise their amazing brains to :
- Retrain their bodies
- Create enabling thought patterns
- Activate positive emotional responses
- Encourage and inspire them to continue with ongoing exercise and activities
We are really looking forward to sharing
