Description

This workshop is designed to provide staff with the opportunity for development in order to become effective Mentors for the newly accredited Achieve scheme at LSBU. All Mentors on the new scheme are required to attend this 2hr workshop before commencing their Mentoring role. The session will be led by the Centre for Research Informed Teaching and will cover:

  • an overview of the new Achieve scheme
  • introduction and/or refresher on the descriptors and the dimensions of the UKPSF,
  • a detailed introduction to the mentoring role in the context of Achieve
  • what makes a successful Fellowship claim (AFHEA, FHEA, SFHEA)
  • supporting and/or carrying out Professional Practice Observations
  • the judgement process for claims and providing feedback


There will be plenty of opportunity for discussion and to have your questions addressed.

*NB: Those who are also interested in the Peer Reviewer role will be invited to a separate induction session later in the process*
