As part of our commitment to providing Member to Member support and guidance over the past 10 years we are looking for new volunteers to join our team of mentors/coaches to support the development of less experienced CIPD branch members.
Whilst the primary purpose of our scheme is to offer mentoring support we recognise that individuals may from time to time also require some form of coaching. We therefore expect our Mentors to be able to use both mentoring and coaching skills interchangeably. Typically, we get requests from our members seeking support with a variety of things, such as, specific assignments and projects, career development, promotion, writing CVs, HR planning, dealing with difficult situations, and upgrading their level of membership.
Our one-day workshop will be informative, interactive and provide you with an opportunity to put your learning into practice and the tools to be able to manage an effective mentoring and coaching relationship. We will focus some of the activities during the day around the HR Profession Map and look at how you could support individuals seeking to upgrade their level of membership.
If you would like to join our team of Mentors, you do not need to have had previous experience of mentoring or coaching as our programme provides an ideal opportunity for you to develop or enhance your mentoring / coaching skills. Existing Mentors are welcome to attend as part of their commitment to CPD. In return for the training provided we hope that you will be able to commit to the Register for at least two years.
Further details about our scheme are available here along with the relevant Application & Profile forms which should be completed and returned prior to the workshop.
There is a nominal fee of £40 per person for this workshop (this fee includes a non-refundable deposit of £10). Payment should be made at the time of booking on-line. Refunds will only be made for cancellations received by our Branch Coordinator on or before 21st October.
Please note that this workshop is only for CIPD Branch Members with a professional level of membership (Assoc CIPD, Chartered MCIPD or FCIPD) willing to join our volunteer Register of Mentors.
