Event description

Description

The ESFA working with Korn Ferry and CSL have developed a pilot one day mentoring training module. This training module provides current and potential mentors with an approach and tools that might help them to mentor and develop relationship-orientated and long-term interactions more effectively. This is a repeat of the Mentoring Training offered in London on 31/10/2017.

Mentoring is transformational and involves much more than simply acquiring a specific skill - it Its purpose is to develop the individual for the future, not only for the current job. Mentoring seeks to provide a safe environment where the mentoree shares whatever issues affect his or her professional and personal success.

Although specific learning goals or competencies may be used as a basis for creating the relationship, its focus goes beyond these areas to include things, such as work/life balance, self-confidence, self-perception, and how the personal influences the professional.

The learning consists of a 1-day interactive workshop, preceded by some pre-reading. The workshop itself will be highly interactive, involving many discussion and self-reflection activities to build you skills and allow you to learn from colleagues. You will hear about the ESFA’s approach to mentoring, build you mentoring toolkit of skills and practice these skills in preparation for applying them back at work.

The workshop is suitable to those new to mentoring, as well as those with experience. In fact, we welcome a mixed group who can learn from each other.

If you are able to attend, we are interested in your experience of this training module to help us to enhance and develop it further.
