We have all seen those flawless images on websites, objects of desire floating in a sea of white. They look too perfect to be real but would you be surprised if I told you that getting those images isn't as hard or as expensive as you might think?
We will teach you from the very begining how to take good looking product photos you can use for anything from selling on the internet to still life art. You are surrounded by objects that you already own or have access to that can help you take great photos, you only need to open your eyes and be a bit creative!
Over the day you will learn
- An overview of how your camera works and how to overcome its limitations.
- Its not what you take the photo with, its how you take it.
- Different light sources, natural, continuous, flash and why there is no one best choice.
- What is a light tent and do I need one?
- How to present your subject
- The rules of a photo, and when to ignore them.
- How to use every day objects to shape the light you use.
- Some basic editing tips to get the best of your pictures.
There will also be some more advanced toys camera toys for you to experiment with if you choose.
This workshop isn't intended for camera officionados, in fact you don't even need to own a SLR camera! The focus is on using the objects you already have around your home and work that can help you get great photos. We will talk you through some theory and have some regular break outs to practice the things you have been told.
The workshop will be very laid back, easy to follow and aimed at beginners who want to surprise themselves with great photos and very little effort. You may not finish the day as an expert product photographer, but you will be pretty good and will have all the tips you need to go off and experiment.
