About this Event

Important Notice: Please note that, due to the proximity of cases of coronavirus near to Cartmel, we have decided to postpone our performance of the Messiah. We have not agreed to an alternative date at this stage. This event will not take place on 31 December - you will be informed of the new date for Messiah once this has been agreed. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Windermere School Choir will be performing Messiah . We are delighted that former student, international opera singer, Adam Smith, will be singing the Tenor role. The School Choir will be joined by members of Cumbria Baroque Choir, Pro Nobis, along with Windermere and Bowness Community Choir and former students.

Born in Northern England, Adam Smith attended Windermere School, finishing his studies in 2006. It was at Windermere School, under the tutelage and guidance of Janet McCallum, that Adam’s talent for music and singing was able to thrive, leading him to the fast-rising career he has. This season he made his debut at the Opéra national de Bordeaux, in the title role of Les contes d’Hoffmann, in a new production by Vincent Huguet, conducted by Marc Minkowski. Next, he will make his debut at the English National Opera as B.F. Pinkteron in Madame Butterfly led by Martyn Brabbins.
