About this event
Are you a new Mum, Dad or carer, feeling overwhelmed, isolated, bored, in need of support reassurance, that your baby is developing in the right way? Or do you have a baby /infant under 3, and just not enough space for play and interaction with children to develop social stimulation and independence.
Join our merry group Tuesday mornings or Thursday mornings during school term time and have an opportunity to network with other parents
The Engine Room Messy Play drop in service provides a welcoming but spacious nursery style structured play environment. A variety of age appropriate activities are set out each week, designed to stimulate developing young minds and encourage interaction between all attendees in a safe environment.
Typical Programme
09.30 - 10.30 - Sign in /welcome on arrival free play activities for 1 and 1 interaction between parents and carers. Sometimes sessions may be themed, or external visiting service providers/advisors are invited to inform families of services and events suitable to them
10.30 -10.35- Tidy up time- Adults and children help to put away toys and some equipment to make way and setup chairs in preparation for nursery rhymes sing along session.
10.35- 10.55 – Sing along nursery rhymes
10.55-11.00 – Notices and goodbye song.
Facilities
The Engine Room is equipped with two spacious baby changing /toilet areas one being just across from the main hall where the session is run.
Every effort is made to make all attendees feel welcome, from the large sofa especially to accommodate individuals with newly born babies, providing healthy fruits and snacks for the little ones , to providing fresh brewed coffee selection of teas, biscuits and freshly baked pastries, to make the adults feel special and pampered. After the session you are welcome to retire to our on site café TABLE 13 cafe to continue networking and enjoy lunch with some other attendees.
Cost
We are ask for voluntary contributions of £2 per session. However if this is not affordable for you we quite understand.
Other Services provided
At the Engine Room a variety of services are provided by the team and outside agencies. We make a point of sign posting people to any relevant services that may be required; baptism, hall hire and other baby family related services.

We are located in the main hall of the Engine Room, which is situated opposite the car park of Hale Village Estate, on Lebus Street at the far side of the village. The car park is pay and display 24/7
