Met Police are recruiting!


The Outreach Team are holding online and in person events, where you can find out how to prepare, apply, and succeed in your application to become a Police Constable.


This is your opportunity to find out about the eligibility, entry pathways and many career opportunities. Meet our experienced Police Officers, who have a varied career, and hear about their roles and experiences.


We will walk you through the application and recruitment process, and will continue to provide support so you feel confident and prepared.


Sessions are delivered by serving Police and Detective Constables, who will share their journey, on what it is like policing in the dynamic and prestigious city, that is London.

Entry Pathways


Met Police are currently undergoing a significant recruitment drive for Police Constables and we have 3 entry pathways with a starting salary of £36,775 (including London allowances) £40,837 on completing probation.


• Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship Scheme - 3 year work/study programme (academic pathway, includes assignments to gain BSc in Professional Policing Practise.

• Degree Holder Entry Programme (Police and Detective Constable) - 2 year programme, work towards Diploma in Professional Policing Practise.

• Police Constable Entry Programme (Police Constable) - 2 year 'on the job' programme, non academic programme.

No day is ever the same but every day you’ll have the satisfaction of knowing that what you do has made a real difference to the lives of Londoners. After you complete your programme (2 or 3 years), there are over 100 different roles, and specialisms to progress onto.


Insight sessions are open to anyone with an interest in finding out more about a career with Met Police; we are open, inclusive and promote diversity - creating a New Met for London.
