Event description

Description

An afternoon workshop with two main aims: informing parishes wishing to know more about metal theft prevention, and helping support those who have found themselves the victim of recent metal theft.

Together, speakers representing the DAC, Ecclesiastical Insurance Group and Historic England will provide comprehensive guidance on the issues, with talks on the following topics:

  • The permissions process for roof alarms and roof covering replacement;

  • Assessing and managing risk of theft;

  • Managing insurance claims;

  • Assessing criteria for replacement in an alternative material; and

  • Advantages and disadvantages of different roof coverings.

In addition, there will be time for questions and answers, plus the opportunity for parishes in similar situations to share experiences and form support networks.

Attendance is free, though we ask that attendees consider giving a small donation to St Mary's Church, which we have been kindly allowed to use for free.

Booking is essential and places will be restricted to two per parish. In addition, a small number of places are available to parishes from Peterborough Diocese.
