"Meteorites" and gun emplacements: The hidden history of an urban park

Founded in 1899 Selly Oak Park has a rich history charting its transformation from ancient deer park to 21st century urban oasis. Illustrated with historical photographs, these walking tours with will showcase the park’s history including our two “meteorites”, 1940’s gun emplacement, and the stump of the old Selly Oak tree. Information stalls open from 10-3. Walking tours at 11am and 2pm, Children's treasure Hunt at 12noon. Meet at Scout Hut on Gibbins Rd, B29 6PG. Tickets required for tours and treasure hunt only. Donations welcome. Part of Birmingham Heritage Week. Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
