About this event
Are you passionate about faith and the environment?
Do you want to get involved in climate care in your church context, but don’t know where to start?
Are you already part of an eco-church with awesome experiences to share?
Do you want to explore climate justice?
Are you already an eco-activist?
If you have answered yes to any of these questions, then please join the Methodist Church’s Eco Community Network.
This community network will meet formally three times per Connexional year, on a weekday evening, from 7pm-9pm on Zoom.
Each gathering will seek to nurture, inspire, equip, and enable members on their individual and community journeys of creation care.
The gatherings will aim to do this through bringing together people from all around the Connexion -- Methodist members and those who are not members -- for collaborative learning, sharing stories, and fellowship.
Within each 2-hour gathering there will be the opportunity for reflection, asking questions, sharing what's happening in your context and listening to what's happening in other contexts, alongside the sharing and signposting of accessible information and resources.
Each gathering can be accessed via the same Zoom link (found on the Event Page); the Zoom waiting room will be open from 645pm, will open 5 minutes before the official 7pm start, and will end promptly at 9pm.
The dates and draft titles* for the gatherings across the 2025/2026 Connexional year are:
Wednesday 17 September 2025: Green Worship be Like...: making the connection between our faith and the environment
Tuesday 21 January 2026: Older Buildings: making them eco friendly
Wednesday 22 April 2026: It's All About the Money: where to go for grants and funds for greening up
Tuesday 8 July 2026: TBC
*Titles may shift as we consult throughout the sessions and ongoing feedback.
This network is an outcome from the collaboration between The Methodist Church's Climate Justice Priority Collaboration Group (CJPCG), The Methodist Church's Action for Hope strategy, and the Methodist Church's Learning Network.
