train2teach Level 4 Education & Training Certificate - Enhanced Package
Course Reference: QCF
This is the latest “in service” teaching qualification and replaced CTLLS on 1st October 2013.
If you wish to work as a teacher in post 16 education such as adult learning, further, and higher education, then you will need a formal teaching qualification.
Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training meets the government requirements for teachers, tutors, and trainers in the Associate Teacher role as the suitable qualification.
About the course
The Associate Teacher role is defined as having less teaching responsibilities than the full teaching role. However, the quality of teaching is expected to be of an equally high standard.
Completing the Level 4 Certificate is a good way to progress to the Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training which will give you Qualified Teacher Learning Skills Status (QTLS) which is seen as the equivalent to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), although as of September 2012 it is still offered by the IfL but no longer required.
You will be required to complete assignments and reference theoretical knowledge using the Harvard Referencing Style. You need to log 30 hours of teaching and be observed 3 times covering 3 hours. The observations can be completed by a competent person, we will provide guidance for you to do this. Our flexible approach enables you to complete the qualification completely in your own time.
This qualification consists of a minimum of 6 units and a maximum of 8 depending on which pathway you take.
In addition to the qualification, you will;
- Complete 2 CPD courses focussing on outstanding practice in education in line with Ofsted and this will contribute to your first years 35 hrs of CPD.
- Attend interview preparation and guidance sessions – developing skills and confidence to help you secure future teaching positions.
- Receive resource packs and materials to help you with your assignments and future teaching careers.
