The Medicines and Health products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) invites members of the public to hear more about its consultation on how medical devices will be regulated across the UK in the future. The webinar will be held on Thursday, 14 October 2021 from 10:30 until 11:30 (BST)

The MHRA is the regulator for medical devices used in the UK. People are being encouraged to contribute their views on changes to how medical devices will be regulated across the UK. This 10-week consultation gives everyone the opportunity to draw on their own experiences and improve patient safety in the future.

From hearing aids and walking sticks, to insulin pumps and thermometers, for many of us, medical devices are an essential part of our everyday lives. We all want to know that the devices we use are safe and effective.

The webinar provides a once in a generation opportunity to ensure the safety and quality of medical devices that many of us rely on, and from which we all benefit. You can read more about the medical devices consultation here.

The webinar will outline the:

  • Background to the consultation, including how the need for reviewing the regulations has arisen
  • Purpose and scope of the consultation
  • How to respond to the consultation
  • Q & A

There will also be a chance to raise any questions about what the consultation is asking and how to respond. Do note it will be an opportunity to clarify what is being asked, rather than the responses to consultation questions.
