Event description

Description

Middlesex Hockey Umpires Association (MHUA) is pleased to announce a number of Development Workshops taking place between March-May 2018.

This workshop is for both Level 1 Umpires (umpires who have been assessed at level 1) and a limited number of Level 1 unassessed umpires who have some experience. The workshop will coincide with the Middlesex JAC games, to allow umpires practical opportunities for coaching.

The workshop also has a number of places for senior umpires who would like to become umpire developers or umpire assessors. Attending these events will allow those who wish to be umpire assessors to learn more about assessing and is part of the MHUA process to becoming a club level assessor.

Each of the workshops will consist of:

  • 45 minute pre-tournament discussion focusing on umpire development
  • 1-2 games umpiring at junior county level (appropriate to experience)
  • Coaching and feedback from MHUA and South League level 2 umpires

All umpires with at least a level 1 (unassessed) qualification who umpire with clubs within the county are invited to attend. Unfortunately we can only assess at higher age levels so cannot offer Level 1 assessments on this day. The workshops will be coordinated by MHUA Level 2 umpires and each umpire will umpire a minimum of one game and receive personalised coaching.

Umpires should bring a yellow and pink shirt, cards, whistles, watches and appropriate caps.

Any umpires with radios are encouraged to bring them and they will be used where possible.
