MI Masterclass: Interdisciplinarity in Academia
Our MI Lunches are back for the 2016/17 academic year with a special MI Masterclass on 'Interdisciplinarity in Academia'.
MI Masterclasses are designed to support Early Career Researchers (ECRs) and postgraduate students in gaining the skills they need to progress their careers, engage with colleagues beyond the boundaries of doctrine, discipline, and institution, and contribute to academia, public life, and the wider society through ground-breaking research and teaching related to medicine, life sciences, and law.
This event will focus on the skills needed to succeed in building interdisciplinary academic careers – presenting, publishing, funding, and policy impact.
A panel of academics at different stages in their careers will discuss: speaking to interdisciplinary audiences; writing and publishing with colleagues from different disciplines; finding funding and writing and reviewing grants for interdisciplinary research projects; and influencing policy and practice.
Tea, coffee and light refreshments will be served.
