MIC - Constructing Futures: Thinking of Uni? Think Construction
Overview
Choosing a university course can be a daunting decision, particularly when students are often shown only a narrow range of career options.
This Early Careers Seminar, delivered by Muslims in Construction (MIC), aims to give Year 13 students a broader and more realistic insight into the construction industry and the wide variety of career paths it offers.
Construction is not just about working on site. It includes professional careers across engineering, project and construction management, commercial and business roles, design, sustainability, health and safety, and leadership. Many of these roles are well paid, in demand, and accessible through different routes, including university degrees, apprenticeships and graduate schemes.
The session will offer honest insight into the current job market, the real challenges facing the next generation and the opportunities available to those considering a future in the industry. Attendees will hear directly from industry professionals and will have the opportunity to ask questions during a live Q&A.
This seminar is particularly suited to students finalising their UCAS choices, as well as parents and guardians who want to better understand the options available and support informed decisions.
