This day has been organised by the School of Mathematics, University of Edinburgh and the Royal Society of Edinburgh to celebrate the life and work of Professor Sir Michael Atiyah OM FRS FRSE 1929-2019.

The day will have two sections:

11:00-12:30 Mathematical Section: Appreciation for Sir Michael’s mathematical work: with talks from former colleagues, collaborators, friends
14:00-15:30 Commemorating Sir Michael’s life: a wider appreciation of his life and work, with informal contributions from attendees encouraged on the day

Lunch will be served 12:45-13:45

There will also be a memorial at Trinity College, Cambridge on October 26 at 14:30
