Michael Goatman BA(Hons) MA (Res) MCSD ProBIDA SFHEA FRSA is a Product/Industrial Designer, elected member of the Chartered Society of Designers and Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. He set up the ‘Cox Centre of Excellence’ and design course at Cranfield University which was one of the Business Week ‘World’s 30 Best Design Schools’ in 2009, and subsequently has been Head of Product, Interior and Automotive Design at Coventry University. He worked for Philips Industrial Design for ten years and has had long associations with Canon, Xerox, Samsung and particularly Imagination, the leading UK Brand Experience agency His primary research area has been intelligent products, and the study of interdisciplinary design in the relationship of design process methods used by creative design, engineering and management. In his talk he will say why Art, Engineering & Design are inextricably linked and why so important in our modern, material world.
