The purpose of this session taking place is to support and train Computing at School (CAS) Master Teachers in the use of Micro Python, with a focus on the BBC micro:bit device that will be delivered to all the UK's Year 7 pupils this academic year.

Do people attending the training have to have some knowledge of python?
Not necessarily. We are hoping that the training will provide them with a good working knowledge of python that they can continue to develop after the training session. People who do know python will be given different challenges. People attending the training will also be asked to contribute to the micro python resource bank that will be accessible from the micro:bit website.
Can people other than Master Teachers attend?
Yes, but preference will be given to Master Teachers. We know there are other people who could benefit from this training (teachers, network technicians and so on) and as long as they are prepared to cascade their training (initially through the phase 2 roadshow which will run in summer term 2016) and then via other networks then this will help us build capacity in the CAS South East region. Please contact Suzy Gray using the email below if you are not a CAS Master Teacher, but would really like to attend.
Cost to attend
There is no charge to attend this training session - the session is funded by Computing at School and DfE.
