Event description

Description

BBC micro:bit workshop

Age 9+

The BBC micro: bit is a pocket-sized computer that you can code, customise and control to bring your digital ideas, games and apps to life. This little device has an awful lot of features, like 25 red LED lights that can flash messages. There are two programmable buttons that can be used to control games or pause and skip songs on a playlist. The BBC micro: bit can detect motion and tell you which direction you’re heading in, and it can use a low energy Bluetooth connection to interact with other devices and the Internet.

In this workshop, children will learn how to code with the BBC micro: bit. Children will begin by learning to code for the device and by the end of the day, may be able to come up with their own ideas for future creations.

Please note that this is not a drop off event. Parental supervision is required for the entire duration.

You can use one of our Micro:bits or you can purchase your own to take away and continue to explore programming at home!
