Microscopes can provide an amazing window into otherwise inaccessible worlds. They can reveal the value of event the tiniest details, but they can also be clunky science kit which sits unused in a cupboard.

The Natural History Museum shares ideas for making the most of microscopes, and tips to help them be accessible to even very young scientists. Get hands-on with a range of different types of microscope, and see which might suit your setting and subject matter.

Indoors or out, with slides or living minibeasts in jars, microscopy can work for you! Explore options for walk-by stations, drop-in sessions, or whole-class lessons.
