Introduction

We would be delighted to welcome you to the annual Mid-Autumn Festival 2025, presented by the Confucius Institute at the University of Glasgow. Attendees can expect a fun evening of arts and crafts, live music, presentations, Chinese calligraphy and language, traditional tea ceremony, mooncake making and more!

The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, is an important traditional Chinese cultural event held every year to celebrate the fullest and brightest moon in the lunar calendar and to coincide with the Autumn harvest time. The festival is held to celebrate gathering of friends and family, giving thanks for wellbeing, new opportunities and friendships, and wishing for good fortune in the year to come.

Venue

This year the event will take place in the Queen Margaret Union (QMU, 22 University Gardens, University of Glasgow, G12 8QN) on the main Gilmorehill campus.

This is a family friendly event which is suitable for all ages, with activities taking place between 6:00pm and 8:00pm.

Tickets are completely free, but as numbers are limited we would encourage you to register soon.
