About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

Join the Mid Shires IOSH Community for an engaging and informative event on Lifting Equipment: Duties and Inspections.

This presentation will cover key aspects of lifting equipment inspection and responsibilities, including:

  • Pre-use, interim, and thorough examination
  • Who is responsible for each stage
  • When these checks need to be performed
  • Basic documentation and reporting requirements

The session will be led by Dave Tucker from LEEA (Lifting Equipment and Engineers Association). Dave will guide attendees through inspections of both accessories and basic appliances (such as hoists and structures), highlighting some of the more obvious defects to look out for. Practical examples of equipment, some with defects and some without, will be shown to help build understanding and awareness.

The presentation will conclude with a group Q&A session, and Dave will also be available afterwards for one-to-one discussions, should you wish to explore any topics in more detail.

Schedule🕕 Arrive from 18:00 – Refreshments and networking🕡 Presentation starts at 18:30🕢 Event ends at 19:30
