An opportunity for children aged 8-12yo to have a go at creating useful objects in wood using hand tools. The Community Shed team will have some suggested projects, but the children will be free to develop their own ideas (within reason!)
A parent-carer must stay with their child at all times. All children MUST be aged 8 or over (for insurance purposes). There is some flexibility in the upper age limit.
THIS IS A PILOT SCHEME. YOU WILL BE ASKED FOR FEEDBACK TO HELP US DECIDE WHETHER TO OFFER REGULAR SESSIONS.
The Shed is best accessed on foot. Please note there is NO parking at the Shed. The nearest car park is Wykes Court Car park on Rax Lane. There is vehicular NO access via Bedford Place. Walking from Mountfield Town Council towards Bedford Place, you will find The Shed in the yard on the right just beyond the gardens. See map below.
If you have mobility issues, please let us know and we will be able to arrange parking for you.
The cost of this activity is £5 per child and £3 per sibling (8yo+). If finances are tight, please use the code 'HelpingHand' to receive a discount
