Description

A new support programme has been launched for Midlands and East health and social care systems that are seeking to maximise the number of ‘green days’ that patients spend in hospital.

We all know that sometimes patients spend days in hospital that do not directly contribute towards their discharge, and we believe that by working together we can reduce the number of these ‘red days’ in favour of value-adding ‘green days’. We hope to achieve this by increasing awareness and understanding of the Red and Green Bed Days process, a simple approach designed to reduce unnecessary waiting for patients, that has delivered outstanding results across the UK.

To support people to implement this process locally, we are running a free support programme that includes a series of masterclasses on topics relevant to Red2Green.

The fourth Red2Green masterclass looks at Change Management

In this session we will get to grips with the theory and practice of two complementary approaches; John Kotter’s 8 Step change programme which is great for avoiding unforced errors when planning, executing and sustaining change. The second technique is Ralph Stacey’s model for understanding and dealing with complex and uncertain changes. We will explore the approaches and apply them to real NHS examples. Attendees are welcome to bring any change projects to the session as material for group work.

At each event, registration opens at 9:30am, with the day starting at 10:00am and finishing by 4:00pm. Once registered, you'll receive final details including venue and agenda a week before the event.

Places are limited and available on a first come first served basis. Please register as soon as possible.

Who should attend: Attendance is encouraged from a range of frontline operational, clinical and managerial staff of all grades. The events are open to colleagues from health and social care organisations in the Midlands and East region only. If you are not from a Midlands and East organisation and wish to attend then please email ECIPInfo@nhselect.org.uk
