Description

Further to the continued success of the Regional Transformation and Sustainability Network meetings already established in Mental Health, Diabetes and Rheumatology, we are delighted to annouce the series will be expanding to include a Gastrointestinal and Liver workstream.

The meetings will be run in conjunction with the British Society for Gastroenterology and will begin with an inaugural meeting covering the Midlands region and will be chaired by Professor Martin Lombard - BSG President, with Dr Rupert Ransford - BSG Regional Representative West Midlands and Dr James Stewart - BSG Regional Representative East Milands acting as co-chairs.

The focus sessions will cover:

  • Transformation and Sustainability Opportunities in Gastroenterology and Liver Disease across the Midlands

  • Learning from Best Practice Examples of Gastroenterology and Liver Services from across the Midlands

Meeting Objectives

  • To support STPs and local stakeholders from all parts of the health and care system with an interest in gastrointestinal and liver conditions to embrace a Quality Improvement led approach to improving patient outcomes and experience within available budgets

  • To support identification of what is safe to do less of in order to do more of what will transform patient outcomes and experience in support of sustainability for NHS services

  • To showcase good practice, foster focused local discussion and closer collaboration between all parties who can make a difference through integrated planning and care delivery

  • To build awareness of the expertise within the BSG and how BSG can support Transformation and Sustainability of services for people with GI and liver problems.

  • To provide a regular platform for airing, sharing and tackling the major system issues prevailing within GI and liver services at local, regional and national levels, both through events and online

Places are complimentary to NHS and public sector organisations eg: CCGs, Trusts, LMCs, councils and services commissioned by councils. Charities and other not-for-profit organisations are subject to availability (please contact the Networks Events Team for further information).
