Migration Museums Network Event at Discovery Museum, Newcastle
Date and time
Location
Discovery Museum
Blandford Square Newcastle upon Tyne NE1 4JA United KingdomDescription
We warmly invite you to this event that brings together those interested in the Migration Museums Network for a day of learning and networking.
We will share the results of the online survey we conducted about migration themes across the UK heritage sector.
There will be opportunities to learn from a range of experiences and to connect with others working on these themes from different regions. There will also be a chance to hear advice from funders about funding in this field. Come ready to share your experience and honest opinions to help us build a valuable and dynamic network.
Confirmed contributors include Tyne and Wear Archives and Museums, the Migration Museum Project, the Hatton Gallery, Newcastle University, the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, Hackney Museum, the Horniman Museum and the Heritage Lottery North East.
This event is free to attend but registration is essential. Please do forward on to colleagues and others who might be interested.
We look forward to receiving your registration and welcoming you to this event.

The Migration Museum Project is creating a dedicated Migration Museum to tell the story of movement into and out of the UK in a fresh and engaging way. In our temporary space at The Workshop we address the topical issue of migration with an adventurous set of exhibits, events and programmes designed to shed light on the lively part that migration – into and out of the country – has played and is playing in our national life.
