Date Wednesday 15 March 2017
Time 08:00am (for 08:30 start) - 10:00am

With event speaker Dr Rob Darlington, LJMU Faculty of Engineering & Technology. Supported by the degree apprenticeships team
There’s lots of information doing the rounds right now on the introduction of the Government’s new Apprenticeship Levy in April, but what will it mean for your business and how can you benefit?
Please join us on 15 March to hear how Liverpool John Moores University is expanding its range of professionally-accredited qualifications to include Degrees Apprenticeships. These exciting new qualification pathways are 80% based on practical on-the-job learning and 20% on academic study, with Government co-funding and the possibility of additional funding available for eligible companies. Leading the session, Dr Darlington will cover:
An introduction to the Levy: what it means, how it works and why it is coming into effect.
An introduction to Degree Apprenticeships, what’s already on offer at LJMU and what’s in the pipeline.
How your business can get involved.
Potential participation in a follow up event that will look at setting up a ‘Trailblazer’ group to develop a Degree Apprenticeship specifically for the Maritime Sector.
