About the Lecture:
For the past 30 years, bringing research evidence into teaching has been a global focus, and over the last 15 years England, with initiatives like the Educational Endowment Foundation and Research Schools, has led the way in this effort. However, we're still in the early stages of systematically embedding research into practice. In this session, I will draw on my 20 years of research to look at the issue from three key perspectives. Firstly, I’ll look at teachers themselves, exploring their needs at different career stages from starting out to senior leaders. My second focus is the system – how organisations and policymakers can embed research. Finally, I’ll consider the change processes that can bring research into practice. By taking these multiple perspectives, I hope to shed light on how we can move things on.
