MILES FOR SMILES - JOIN OUR THIRD ANNUAL CHARITY WALK EVENT FOR DENTAID THE DENTAL CHARITY!

Join Dentsply Sirona UK & Ireland in our mission to support oral health within the most vulnerable of communities for Dentaid The Dental Charity by taking on a walking challenge and raising funds for an excellent cause.

On Friday 5th July 2024, we will be walking 13 miles. The event meeting point will be our office in Weybridge Surrey, you will then be escorted onto a coach which will take you to the starting point which is Teddington Lock in Richmond-Upon-Thames. After a rewarding 13 mile walk you will finish the journey back at our office in Weybridge (for a celebratory drink, food and more fun!)

How can I participate in Miles for Smiles?

Easy, here are 3 ways you can participate and be part of this amazing event:

(2) Walk in a location of your choice, download the Pacer app, walk 13 miles whilst posting updates and tracking others progress

(3) Kindly making a donation to Dentaid The Dental Charity.

We are delighted to be organising this event for our colleagues, friends, family members and the wider Dental community to help give a smile back to those in need.

For a joining fee of £35 you will secure your place and receive a souvenir t-shirt to wear along the way. Every penny of the £35 joining fee will go to Dentaid The Dental Charity directly. To register, follow the link above.

About Dentaid The Dental Charity:

In the UK, Dentaid The Dental Charity provides free dental care for homeless and vulnerable people. Dentaid The Dental Charity's mobile dental units visit hostels, day centres and night shelters providing emergency treatment for people who find it difficult to access dental care. Dentaid The Dental Charity also provide dental care in areas where people are struggling to find a dentist and run clinics for refugees and asylum seekers, head and neck cancer patients, veterans, children in areas of social deprivation and victims of domestic violence​.

The Route:

Walking along the River Thames from Teddington Lock to Dentsply Sirona Office in Weybridge via Bushy Park and the River Wey offers a picturesque journey through history and nature.

Starting at Teddington Lock, you'll witness the tranquil waters of the Thames and the iconic lock system. Following the river, you'll reach Kingston upon Thames, a vibrant town with a bustling market square and picturesque riverside promenade.

Heading downstream, you'll pass through the charming Bushy Park, known for its majestic deer population and lush greenery. As you continue, you'll encounter Hampton Court Palace, a magnificent Tudor palace with stunning gardens and rich historical significance.

Continuing your journey, you’ll travel along the Thames passing Walton-on-Thames where you’ll have a chance to stop, rest and recoup before making the final push to the finish line.

Finally, as you approach Weybridge, you'll know the end is in sight with the final uphill climb to the Dentsply Sirona Office. This walk offers a delightful blend of scenic beauty, historical landmarks, and riverside tranquility, making it a memorable journey for any nature enthusiast or history buff.
