About this event

Science & Tech • Science

An opportunity to see Galloway Fisheries Trust demonstrate electrofishing and inverebrate survey techniques as part of Threave Landscape Restoration Project.

A short introduction followed by a ten-minute walk down to the survey site at Mill Burn. There may be an opportuity to have a go at kick-sampling and freshwater invertebrate ID after the demonstration, and there will also be a chance to ask questions about the survey, what we find and the restoration work.

This is a free event with a suggested donation of £5 on the day.

Meet at Threave Nature Reserve Information Centre (oposite the car park). From the A75 at Castle Douglas, follow signs for Threave Castle.

Please wear suitable clothing for the conditions (which are changeable!), and stout waterproof footwear / wellies. We will be walking over rough ground with steep banks and high vegetation in places.

If you have any questions please email us at ThreaveNature@nts.org.uk and we'll be happy to help!
